Some time ago, my son Andrei was not overly enthusiastic about the concept of homework
“Andrei, where’s your homework?” – My wife Marilena said to our little boy while holding out her hand.
“My dog ate it” – was his solemn response.
“Andrei, I know you since before you were born. Do you really expect me to believe that?”
“It’s true, Mom, I promise” – insisted our son.
“I had to force him, but he ate it!”

The dog truly ate his homework
