Sometimes business takes you to more or less unusual places
I was last night stuck in Abbostford, in a neighbourhood that I didn’t know well.
As it was dinner time, I entered a small restaurant and ordered a plate of cabbage soup.
“I’m sorry, we’re all out of cabbage soup – or any other kind of soup, for that matter.”
“Well, then bring me some roast chicken…”
“Chicken we ain’t got, either.”
“Oh, okay, how about some fish…?”
“Sorry, out of that, too.”
“Look, waiter, just bring me a cup of tea and a roll. I need to lose weight, anyway.”
“Good God!” the waiter exclaimed.
“A man with an appetite like yours, I never saw in my whole life!”
