Can I bring my father-in-law to the Home Inspection? He’s an engineer, you know…?
Most buyers want to bring along a parent or a friend who has purchased at some point and “knows what to look for”
At least in the short term, COVID-19 has changed home inspection protocols
I have seen Home Inspectors requiring that only clients listed as buyers on the Contract to be allowed to attend the home inspection, and for these, only by following all social distancing protocols
In the past fifteen years I’ve seen many home inspections turning into a show-and-tell
I’ve had my share of buyers bringing groups of as many as seven people to the inspection. A real “entourage” and – in most cases – these do no harm. Still, entourages increase the home inspection’s time, and they distract the inspector.
Sometimes, impossible to supervise kids sure can create havoc, while parents try to stay focused on the inspector.
Talking about my personal Fuggetaboutit moment… My very own buyer’s uncle, a very nice gentleman, found the key to the swimming pool’s cabana in the seller’s to be unnamed drawer
